Exchange students in the Asian Studies Program can gain first-hand experience in Japanese businesses, schools, and organizations. Past placements include:

  • Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation

  • RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka

  • Local schools in Hirakata and Osaka

  • The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan

Additional Fees

  • General Deposit: JPY 10,000 (refundable)

  • International Student Fee: JPY 10,000 (mandatory)

  • Liability Insurance & Medical Assistance Fee: JPY 4,300 (mandatory)

Tuition Fees

No tuition fees for the Exchange Program if nominated by an exchange partner institution.

Requirements

  • Official academic transcript

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)

  • Two recommendation letters from university professors/instructors (forms available on GAIDAI-Link, must be emailed directly by the professor)

  • Japanese Instructor’s Reference Form (only if you have studied Japanese before; counts as one of the two recommendation letters, but the other must be from a different professor)

Housing Options

  • Homestay (2 meals/day): JPY 320,000 per semester *

  • GLOBAL COMMONS 結 -YUI- International Student Residence (kitchen facility available):  JPY 270,000 *

       (All rooms are single rooms equipped with Desk, Bookshelf,

        Refrigerator, Bed, Closet, Internet access and  Shoebox)

       Reservation Fee: JPY 2,000 (Non refundable) *

       Security Deposit: JPY 30,000 (Refundable)
