Grading system

  • Norway uses two grading scales: Pass/Fail and A–F. On the A–F scale, E is the lowest passing grade:

  • A = Excellent              B = Very Good              C = Good

  • D = Satisfactory        E = Sufficient                F = Fail

Welcome Session

  • Organized by the Department of Research Administration and Internationalisation at the start of each semester.

Evaluation Session

  • Before the semester ends, incoming students attend an evaluation session organized by the Department of Research Administration and Internationalisation.

Accommodation

Exchange students can apply for affordable student housing through the Student Welfare Organisation of Oslo and Akershus (SiO). Early application is recommended.

Estimated Monthly Cost of Living

  • Total: NOK 11,000 - 16,000

  • Accommodation: NOK 5,000 -  10,000

  • Food: NOK 3,000 - 5,000

  • Transportation NOK 700

  • Other Expenses: NOK 2,000 - 4,000

Tuition Fees

No tuition fees for the Exchange Program if nominated by an exchange partner institution.

Lecture Periods

  • Autumn semester: Mid-August – Mid-December

  • Spring semester: Early January– Mid-June

Courses in English

Kristiania University College offers a wide variety of bachelor’s and master’s courses taught in English.

Transcript of Records

  • Students can order a transcript in Studentweb for up to 6 months after exchange. A digital PDF transcript is automatically added to the student’s profile.

Buddy System

Each exchange student is assigned a buddy for support during their stay.

Health and Travel Insurance

  • Students must arrange valid medical and travel insurance. Coverage should include dental care, accidents, and liability.

  • European students must bring their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
