Choosing Units

• Exchange students must register for all exams they plan to take and receive credits for in KU Campus.

• The transcript of records confirms all successfully completed courses. It is sent by email and mail to both the student and their home university.​

Grading System

• 1.0–1.3 = Excellent

• 1.7–2.3 = Good

• 2.7–3.3 = Satisfactory

• 3.7–4.0 = Sufficient (Pass)

• 4.3 and below = Fail

Learning Agreement

The Learning Agreement is a contract between the student, KU, and the home university, and must be signed before the semester begins.

Courses

• Most courses in Eichstätt are taught in German.

• A wide range of English-taught courses is offered mainly at the Faculty of Business Administration, Ingolstadt Campus.

• Course information is available on KU Campus (online catalog), with finalized lists published a few weeks before each semester.

Semester start dates: Winter – Early September | Summer – Early March

Learning Agreement Procedures

• Select courses from KU Campus or the KU website.

• Get the Learning Agreement approved and signed by your home university.

• Upload the signed document in Mobility Online (KU’s application tool).

Local Transportation

• Student semester tickets for local public transport: € 77 (Eichstätt) or € 138 (Ingolstadt).

• The "Sozialwerk" of the KU supports the semester ticket with currently 33.00 EUR per semester.

• Students commuting between both campuses can apply for a partial refund of the transportation cost (50%).

• Total: € 1,000

• Accommodation: € 250–550 (Ingolstadt)

                                              € 280–480 per month (Eichstätt)

• Damage Deposit: € 500 - 1,000

• Housing Deposit: € 350 housing deposit (incl. €50 non-refundable)

• Meals:  € 1,000 per semester

• Insurance: ~€ 108 per month

• Visa application/extension: ~€ 100

• Student Service Fee: € 71 (Mandatory)
