Tuition Fees

No tuition fees for the Exchange Program if nominated by an exchange partner institution.

 

Nomination Deadlines

  • Spring Semester : 31 October

  • Fall Semester : 4  April

 

Academic Calendar

  • Spring Semester: April – August

Class ends in the end of July.

  • Fall  Semester: September – March

Class ends in the end of January.

 

Application Requirements

  1. Those who are enrolled at the time of application and until the end of the exchange study period at Gakushuin Women’s College and are officially nominated by a partner university.

  2. Those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Level N4 or have the equivalent proficiency.

  3. Those who enroll in an appropriate overseas insurance plan which covers medical expenses while in Japan.  ※ All international students who will stay in Japan for more than three months are required to enroll in the National Health Insurance system.

  4. Those with good academic records and are considered by their home university as they are physically and mentally able to study abroad.

  5. Those who abide by the policies of Gakushuin Women's College.

  • Recommendation Letter from Academic Supervisor – Any format (free format)

  • Transcript of Academic Record – PDF

  • Passport-style Photo (4.0×3.0 cm) – jpg/jpeg/bmp/png, etc. (Do not insert in form; see photo requirements)

  • Health Certificate – PDF

  • Questionnaire on Previous Study of Japanese – Word/PDF

  • JLPT Certificate (if applicable) – PDF

  • Application for Certificate of Eligibility (Part 1–3) – Excel/PDF (Do not insert photo; complete all blanks)

 

Official Transcript

  • Official transcript will be issued when you finish your study at GWC (you can choose from the Japanese version or the English version).

  • It will be sent to the international office of your home university after your exchange period ends. Shipping time is as follows, and we cannot send them earlier than this.

2. Fall Semesters : in late March or later 

 

Accommodation

  • We try to offer all exchange students a room in one of our dormitory according to their preference.

  • However, please note that we may not be able to secure it due to availability.

  • Total: ¥ 70,000 - 137,000

  • Accommodation: ¥ 25,000 - 89,000

  • Food: ¥ 40,000

  • Transportation: ¥ 5,000 - 8,000
