Danish ID Number
All international students must register with the Danish Civil Registration System (CPR) to access healthcare, pay taxes, receive paychecks, and open a bank account.
IBA provides full guidance on how to register during Welcome Day and before arrival. It usually takes 2–3 weeks to obtain your CPR number.
Insurance
With your CPR number, you’ll receive a Danish national health insurance card, giving you access to the Danish healthcare system. This covers free medical care and is required at all doctor, hospital, and pharmacy visits (including when collecting prescriptions).
Welcome on arrival– Buddy program
IBA buddies are student volunteers who help you settle in during your first weeks in Denmark. Before arrival, you’ll receive your buddy’s name and contact details. Your buddy will show you around campus and provide guidance on practical matters.
Housing
IBA recommends applying through Kolding City Housing Administration. Rent for student housing starts from DKK 3,000–4,000 (≈ €400–500) for a studio apartment. In Denmark, rent is always paid one month in advance.
Estimated Monthly Cost of Living
Total: DKK 7,000–8,000 (≈ €900–1,000) per month.
