Korean Language Education Center (KLEC)

Recognized as one of the nation’s top Korean language institutes, KLEC welcomes over 4,000 students every year, focusing mainly on speaking and listening. Its curriculum and materials are widely used abroad.

  • KGP60 – Korean for General Purposes 60

    • 60 hours of Korean learning

    • 3 times a week (evening classes)

    • 3 credits upon completion

  • KGP200 – Korean for General Purposes 200

    • 200 hours of Korean learning

    • Morning or afternoon classes (Mon–Fri)

    • 12 credits upon completion

 

Required Documents

(Submit Online via Application Portal)

  1. Copy of Passport

    • Must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the exchange term.

  2. ID Photo (JPG/JPEG format)

    • Color photo taken within the last 6 months.

    • This photo will be used for your student ID card.

  3. Certificate of Bank Balance

    • Minimum: USD 5,000 per semester (USD 10,000 per year).

    • If using a parent/guardian’s bank statement, additional documents proving the relationship (e.g., birth certificate, family registration) must be submitted.

  4. Academic Transcript or Certificate of Enrollment

  5. On-Campus Housing Application Form

    • Required for dormitory applicants only.

  6. Sogang Global Scholarship Form (Optional)

  7. Recommendation Letter

    • Required for KAP200 (Intensive Korean Program) applicants only.

 

Special Requirements for Non-OECD Nationality Students

(Submit Original Documents After Online Application)

  1. Original Academic Documents

    • Transcript or Certificate of Enrollment

    • Must include Apostille or Consulate Verification

  2. Original Bank Statement

    • Minimum balance: USD 5,000 per semester (USD 10,000 per year)

    • Must be issued within 30 days from the application deadline

    • If using a guardian’s bank statement, proof of relationship is required (e.g., birth certificate, family registration)

    • Apostille / Consulate verification is NOT required for the bank statement

Special Requirements for Chinese Nationality Students

  1. Original Academic Documents

    • Transcript or Certificate of Enrollment

    • Must be issued by CHSI (China Credentials Verification)

    • Apostille or Consulate Verification is NOT required

    • CHSI website: https://www.chsi.com.cn/

  2. Original Bank Statement

    • Minimum balance: USD 5,000 per semester (USD 10,000 per year)

    • Must be issued within 30 days from the application deadline

    • The account balance must remain in the account for at least 30 days

    • If using a guardian’s bank statement, proof of relationship is required

    • Apostille / Consulate verification is NOT required
