Campuses
The University has four campuses, each specializing in different academic fields:
Hagenberg Campus (Informatics, Communications and Media)
Linz Campus (Medical Engineering and Applied Social Sciences)
Steyr Campus (Business and Management)
Wels Campus (Engineering)
*Exchange students may take courses only at their assigned campus, as stated in the partner agreement.
Tuition Fees
No tuition fees for the Exchange Program if nominated by an exchange partner institution.

Lecture Period
Winter Semester: October- End-January
Summer Semester: March- End-June
Orientation
Mandatory for all exchange students. In general, 1 or 2 weeks before the lectures start.
Nomination and Application
Exchange students must be nominated by their home university at least two weeks before the application deadline.
After nomination, students will receive a personal link to the online application portal.
German Language Courses
German ECTS-courses at different levels are offered to international students free of charge.
Courses
Exchange students may join any course offered at their assigned campus, provided they meet the required prerequisites.
Hagenberg, Steyr, and Wels campuses offer a wide range of courses in English, with listings available online.

Language Requirements
A certificate of English proficiency at B2 level (for English-taught courses) or a certificate of German proficiency at B2 level (for German-taught courses) is required for non-native speakers.
Buddy Program
Every international student will be put into contact with a local student (buddy) before arrival.
Buddies will help the incoming students with setting up bank accounts, food shopping, tours etc.
Insurances
Students are responsible to have their own health insurance.
FH Upper Austria does not provide any insurance, but can help the student to register for the Austrian public health insurance which costs ~ 60€ per month.
Fees
~20 € per semester for Student Union, mandatory for all students in Austria.
Arrival and Pick-up Service
Students are advised to arrive in Austria shortly before the orientation period begins. A buddy can be arranged to meet them at the train station or airport.

Total: € 900 - 1,300
Accommodation: € 350 - 500 (including heating and electricity)
Food: € 220 - 350
Public Transportation: € 20 - 40
Study and Personal Requirements: € 70 - 100
