VISA INFORMATION
Non-Immigrant Education Visa (or Non-ED)
is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom of Thailand to study, join a work-study or observation tour, participate in projects or seminars, or attend a conference or short-term training course. The Non-ED Visa is valid for 90 days, and students must apply for this visa prior to arrival. To maintain visa compliance, students must register as full-time students and engage in regular educational activities as required by the institution and Thai immigration authorities. Students may extend the visa up to 45 days before its expiration.
Non-Immigrant ED Plus (or Non-ED Plus)
is issued to full degree international students currently studying at universities or institutions in Thailand. During their studies, Non-ED Plus Visa holders may depart and re-enter Thailand without the need for a re-entry permit. Students can apply to extend the visa up to 45 days before its expiration. To maintain visa compliance, students must register as full-time students and participate in regular educational activities as required by their institution and Thai immigration authorities. Additionally, Non-ED Plus Visa holders are allowed to extend their stay in Thailand for one more year after graduation to seek employment, travel, or engage in other activities, and are eligible to change their visa type in Thailand if employed.

Documents Required for Student Visa Application
Applicants must submit the following relevant documents:

Completed visa application form

Passport with a validity of not less than 6 months (a validity of at least 18 months is required for a one-year visa application)

Diploma and transcripts from previous schools / academic records

Letter of acceptance from Assumption University of Thailand

Name of the Royal Thai Embassy, Consulate-General, or relevant office in your country where you wish to apply for the visa

Any documents in foreign languages must be translated into English and notarized by a notary public or the applicant’s diplomatic/consular mission

Period of Stay

The Non-Immigrant Education Visa (both Non-ED and Non-ED Plus) is extendable. Visa holders can apply for an extension up to 45 days before the expiration date.

The first extension must be completed within 90 days of arrival.

Visa Extension
Students can extend their student visa before its expiry date. You must contact the International Center to apply for a visa extension at least 30 days before the expiration date and submit the following documents:

A copy of the passport (all stamped pages)

A copy of the TDAC

A AU registration receipt

An original official transcript

Accommodation Notification

Both immigration offices require the TM.30 form.

Extension fee 1,900 - 1,960 Baht.

One (4 x 6 cm) photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months

90-Day Report

It is required by Thai law that all foreigners staying in Thailand for a period longer than 90 days on a Non-Immigrant Visa must report your current address to the Thai Immigration Bureau every 90 days.

You must file the report at the immigration office in your location within 14 days before or up to 7 days after the 90-day expiration period. However, if you leave Thailand at any time during the 90-day period, the day count will restart from day 1 upon your re-entry into Thailand.
