Nomination Period

Application Procedure

  1. Completed Application Form for Exchange Student

  2. One 2"×2" color photo (taken within the last six months)

  3. Certificate of Enrollment from the home institution

  4. Official Transcript

  5. Recommendation Letter from an instructor at the home institution

  6. Copy of Passport

  7. Study Plan (one A4 page outlining purposes of exchange and course scheme)

  8. Accommodation Application (On/Off-Campus for Overseas Students)

  9. Health Insurance Certificate covering the stay in Taiwan

    • After six months of residence, students must enroll in Taiwan’s National Health Insurance program.

  10. Health Certificate Form B

  11. Authorization for Emergency Medication

  12. Exchange Student Behavior Protocol

  13. Affidavit to Waive Student Group Insurance

  14. Proof of Overseas Insurance (submit certificate to the Office of International Cross-Strait Cooperation)

  • Students without overseas insurance must purchase Group Insurance (NTD 500/month).

Previous Studies

  • Applicants should have completed at least one year of university-level study before applying for exchange.

Visa Requirement

Course Enrollment

  • Course add/drop is done online one week before the semester begins through the Course Selection System.

  • Students can register for courses taught in Chinese, English, or other foreign languages.

Estimated Cost

  • National Health Insurance: NT$826/month

  • Accommodation: Quad room NT$12,000/semester (on-campus) or NT$6,500–8,500/month (off-campus)

  • Food: NT$6,000–12,000/month

  • Transportation: NT$800–2,000/month

  • Utilities & Internet: NT$1,500–3,000/month

  • Personal expenses: NT$2,000–5,000/month

Tuition Fees

No tuition fees for the Exchange Program if nominated by an exchange partner institution.

Academic Calendar

  • FALL 2025

    • Period of study: September 1, 2025 - January 31, 2026

    • Suggested Arrival date: First week of September

    • Winter Vacation: February 2026

  • SPRING 2026

    • Period of study: February 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026

    • Suggested Arrival date: Second week of February

    • Summer Vacation: July-August 2026

English Language Requirement

  • Exchange students must have at least B1 level English on the CEFR scale.

Medical Insurance

  • All inbound students must have valid medical or health insurance before arriving in Taiwan and provide a copy upon application.
    Students staying in Taiwan for over six months must join the National Health Insurance program (NT$826 per month).

Exchange Student Quota & Orientation

  • The number of exchange students each term is subject to agreement.

  • Participation in the orientation program is mandatory.

  • Students should arrive in Kaohsiung before the event and bring a copy of their health insurance receipt to obtain their student ID.

Housing Information

  • On-campus Dormitory:

    • Quad room: NTD 12,000 per semester

  • Off-campus Housing (Daya International Apartment):

    • Small single: NTD 6,500/month

    • Big single: NTD 7,500/month

    • Twin room: NTD 8,500/month

    • Students who choose Daya need to hand in the application with reservation form to Daya at daya112921163@gmail.com.

  • Students who rent privately must submit their rental address, landlord’s name, and phone number.
