AU Joins Birmingham’s 125th Anniversary Celebration

A warm and cheerful evening unfolded at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok on 27 September 2025 as the University of Birmingham marked its 125th anniversary. Alumni, partners, and faculty gathered to reflect on the university’s long journey and the ideas that have shaped its role in global education. Stories from graduates brought the celebration to life, adding a personal touch that made the night feel familiar and welcoming.

Two representatives from OIA, Mr. Quamrul and Ms. Tien Phan, joined the event on behalf of Assumption University to reconnect with Birmingham partners and meet alumni living in Thailand. Conversations flowed easily, highlighting how both institutions continue to grow together.
