On April 8, 2025, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) warmly welcomed a delegation from the University of Foggia, Italy, under the Erasmus+ Programme.
What is Erasmus+?
The Erasmus+ Programme is a flagship initiative of the European Union, designed to support education, training, youth, and sport across Europe and beyond. It offers funding and frameworks for student and staff mobility, strategic partnerships, and cross-border academic cooperation. The University of Foggia, a recognized holder of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, actively participates in this programme to build global partnerships and promote intercultural learning.
Hosted by AU’s Office of International Affairs (OIA), the visit explored joint academic opportunities and future collaboration. The delegation included Mr. Giulio Esposito, Head of the International Department, and Ms. Oleksandra Tverezovska and Ms. Olesia Benchak from the International Relations Department.
At Suvarnabhumi Campus, the guests toured key facilities—from Sala Chaturamuk Paijit to the Library and Sports Center. A highlight of the morning was a visit to the Confucius Institute, where the Foggia team engaged in a hands-on Chinese calligraphy session and tried their hand at a traditional cultural mini-game, creating joyful moments and cross-cultural connections.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited Hua Mak Campus to meet with:
Dr. Sansanee Aranyanak Khlaewkhla, Director of the Office of Graduate Studies
Asst. Prof. Dr. Patchanee Yasurin, Dean of the Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology
Dr. Roungdao Klinjapo, Chairperson of the Food Technology Department
Dr. Sirichai Preudhikulpradab, Director of the MBA.HTM and PhD.HTM Programs
The conversation centered on AU’s hands-on, interdisciplinary approach to learning, with a focus on graduate education, research, and potential avenues for student and faculty mobility.
AU extends its heartfelt thanks to our guests from the University of Foggia for their engaging visit and inspiring exchange. This meaningful first step sets the stage for deeper collaboration and a shared commitment to global education, innovation, and friendship.
