Summer School 2026 in India at CHRIST University

The Summer School 2026 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) offers students the opportunity to spend four weeks studying in Bangalore while exploring Indian culture, literature, and community life through lectures, cultural experiences, and field visits.


The program runs from 29 June to 25 July 2026 and combines academic sessions with community engagement and cultural activities. Students who complete the program will receive 4 course credits with assessments.


Academic Tracks

Participants will study in one of three tracks:

Indian Culture and Wellness

  • Yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices

  • Stress management techniques

  • Introduction to Indian music, theatre, and folklore


Social Outreach and Volunteerism

  • Environmental and sustainability initiatives

  • Community education and health awareness

  • NGO interactions and visits to urban and rural communities


Indian Literature

  • Study of Indian short stories, poems, novels, and plays

  • Understanding literary works within their cultural and historical context

  • Discussions with writers and thinkers based in Bangalore


Program Experience

Classes take place Monday to Friday with 4–5 lectures per day, while weekends are reserved for excursions and cultural activities.


Program highlights include:

  • Bangalore city sightseeing

  • Village exposure camp and community visits

  • Mysore day excursion

  • Delhi sightseeing

  • Visit to the iconic Taj Mahal

  • Valedictory ceremony at the end of the program


Program Fee

The program fee is USD 1,480, which includes:

  • Course tuition and academic sessions

  • Airport pickup and drop-off

  • Single-room accommodation on campus

  • All meals on campus

  • Cultural excursions and program activities

  • 4 course credits with assessments


Important Dates

  • Application Deadline: 1 April 2026

  • Acceptance Notification: 30 April 2026

  • Program Dates: 29 June – 25 July 2026
