On 17th March 2025, Assumption University’s Graduate School of Human Sciences hosted a special talk titled “Unlocking the Future of Bilingual Education: How AI is Revolutionizing Learning.” Dr. Cecilia Chen, Global Marketing Director of the International Teaching & Global Leadership Program at Johns Hopkins University, led the session.

Dr. Chen discussed how AI tools like ChatGPT, Grammarly, and Otter.ai are transforming bilingual education. She highlighted that these tools analyze student performance in real time, create personalized study plans, and support language learning alongside STEM subjects. Dr. Chen also compared AI policies between the U.S. and Asia, noting Asia’s focus on adaptive learning and data privacy.

While recognizing AI’s role, she stressed that it should complement, not replace, human educators who bring emotional intelligence and cultural understanding to the classroom. Dr. Chen predicted that institutions balancing AI and human teaching will lead the way for bilingual education in Asia.
