Online Business Japanese Courses by Toyo University (Spring 2026)

As we move closer to a new season, it is a great time to begin something new. For AU students who are currently studying Japanese, Toyo University (Japan) is offering a series of online Business Japanese courses for Spring 2026, designed to help take your language skills beyond the classroom and into real-world use.

These courses focus on practical Japanese used in professional settings, including communication skills, business manners, and cultural understanding. All classes are conducted online, allowing students to learn from home while connecting with instructors and learners from around the world.


Who is this for?

These courses are intended for motivated learners who already have a strong foundation in Japanese.

  • Requirement: JLPT N2 or N1 level (or equivalent)

  • Format: 100% Online (Zoom)


Select Your Track

Toyo University offers three course options. Students may choose the track that best matches their goals.


1. Business Essentials Track (FREE)

This track consists of 14 sessions covering fundamental topics in Japanese business culture and communication.

Course Highlights:

  • Communication Basics: Learn expression skills from translation/interpretation perspectives and how to start professional relationships with "Small Talk".

  • Honorifics & Grammar: Master honorifics in business and practice situational expressions.

  • Manners & Culture: Gain essential knowledge of business etiquette and corporate culture in Japan.

  • Reading & Writing: Learn to master written reports and emails, including the effective use of AI tools.

  • Career Development: Hear from foreign professionals about building a career and working styles in Japan.

  • Fee: Free

  • Dates: 24 February – 1 March 2026

  • Recommended for: Students who want to experience a professional Business Japanese course with no cost.


2. Advanced Language Track

High-level Business Japanese training for learners aiming to refine professional fluency.

Course Highlights:

  • Listening Comprehension: Focus on situational awareness, understanding backgrounds in business conversations, and identifying commercial practices in business talk.

  • Integrated Skills: Practice "task listening"—the ability to read business documents while simultaneously listening to information to grasp a situation.

  • Advanced Reading: Deepen your ability to interpret complex business documents and master specialized business vocabulary.

  • Fee: 1,100 JPY (approximately 250 THB per course)

  • Dates: 12–14 March 2026

  • Recommended for: Learners aiming to refine professional fluency and those wanting to challenge BJT J1 or J1+ levels.

  • Fee: 1,100 JPY (approximately 250 THB per course)

  • Dates: 12–14 March 2026


3. BJT Test Preparation Track

Preparation strategies and practice for the BJT (Business Japanese Proficiency Test).

Course Highlights:

  • BJT Overview: Introduction to the test’s unique features, typical question formats, and effective study tips.

  • Listening Practice: Exercises focused on situational understanding and grasping the intent behind business conversations.

  • Integrated Listening & Reading: Training to extract information from documents while listening to situational audio.

  • Reading & Grammar: Master the vocabulary and grammar that form the core of BJT reading comprehension.

  • Fee: 1,100 JPY (approximately 250 THB per course)

  • Dates: 19–21 March 2026

  • Recommended for: Students planning to take the BJT to strengthen their job-hunting profile in Japan.
